Michael Kling, O.D.

Dr. Kling

Dr. Michael Kling graduated with honors from the Southern College of Optometry in 1993. Following graduation, he completed his residency training in Ocular Disease and Pathology at the Omega Eye Care Center in Jackson, TN.

Dr. Kling is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), the California Optometric Association (COA), and is a member and past-president of the San Diego County Optometric Society (SDCOS). He has served on the COA Nominating Committee and President's Council Advisory Committee, and was a past chairman of the COA Membership Committee and Needs Assessment Task Force.

In 2000, Dr. Kling was named "Young O.D. of the Year" by the California Optometric Association.

Dr. Kling has been an expert examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO), and is an Adjunct Faculty Member at the Southern College of Optometry. He was a co-founder and president of Laser Vision Consultants of San Diego, a clinical director and board of trustees member at TLC Laser Eye Center in La Jolla, and currently owns and operates Invision Eye Care Optometry in San Diego.

Gary Shute, O.D., F.A.A.O.

Dr. Gary Shute has been practicing in private optometry for over thirty years. Twenty of those years have been spent in San Diego, most notably as President and Owner of Family Vision Center-Family Optometry in Hillcrest.

Dr. Shute is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO), a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), a member and delegate of the California Optometric Association (COA), and has held several titles, such as President, Vice President, Secretary, and Communiations Director for the San Diego County Optometric Society (SDCOS).

Dr. Shute has been an expert examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO) and the California Board of Examiners in Optometry (CBEO), and has been a Clinical Investigator for several contact lens related manufacturers such as Bauch & Lomb, Paragon Optical, Alcon Solutions, and American Contact Lens (Biocurve).

Tania Kaczanowski, O.D.

Affectionately known as "Dr. K," Dr. Tania Kaczanowski has been practicing optometry since 1999. A native of Ontario, Canada, Dr. Kaczanowski completed her Doctorate Degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, and has remained a resident and practicing optometrist in the US ever since.

Dr. Kaczanowski is a member of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO), the American Optometric Association (AOA), the California Optometric Association (COA), and is a Trustee for the San Diego County Optometric Society (SDCOS).

Dr. Kaczanowski completed a profile and analysis for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO) Task Force, has been a Speaker for the Pennsylvania College of Optometry Speaker's Bureau, and has received several scholarships and awards related to the study of eye care.
